1984 TMC/MCI-9
My own personal project is this '84 TMC-9 with a 6V92 and a 5 speed std. trans. This is not an ex-greyhound. It was built in Roswell, NM, sold to a charter company in Southern CA It was then sold to a company in Los Angeles and was turned into a party-bus. It spent most of it time sitting until I purchased it. I wanted to make a MH conversion so I registered it as such. (License plates are current.) My son used it last year to take his band to Portland, OR Since that time I have not been able to complete my plans due to financial situations. Now I find myself realizing that I will never be able to do it and I feel that the best I can do is sell it. When my son used it we charged the A/C and it worked great. It has been converted to R-134. Some of the windows have covers on the outside and full curtains inside. The exterior stainless has been polished and there are no major dents. Starts easily, no smoke and does 75+ on the open road. Strong on the hills and the ride is smooth. Steering is tight, no vibration. Although I do not know the actual mileage I'm certain that it is lower than most MC-9's its age. When I got it there were several decals all over the bus (as you can se in the pictures) However most of them have been removed. The bus has been parked for some time and one of the air bags is leaking (very slow leak but you can hear it with the engine off) and the last time I moved it there seemed to be a leak in one of the rear brake chambers. (When I applied the brake I could see a drop in the air pressure. The longer I held the brake, the lower it went.) I think that sitting around has dried out some of the rubber and it should be looked into before too long. By the way the bus has a fuel guage (some don't) and I filled the tank last time it was used. Only occasional starting to make certain the battery was stull charged up is the only fuel used. It holds about 130 gallons so by current prices for fuel that figures out to be more than $600.00 worth of fuel.
Interior has two bunks and several of the original seats and original Rest room. There is a JVC AM/FM/CD player and a Realitic PA Tires are in fair shape. The best are on the front and so on to the rear. There is a small microwave inside but no genset or setup for 110V power. One of the batteries went dead so I replaced it.
The table and chairs shown are not bolted down and need to be. Some of the original seats have been turned around and small RV tables installed for playing cards etc. I have $12,000 invested and would like to regain as much of my investment as possible.. Contact me with your best offer at: (951)312-2581 or glenn@tourwest.com Delivery is available for $1.50 per mile (plus return airfare if over 500 miles) |
